Athletes of Golf Clubs San Diego : An Interseting History





The San Diegan community has cultivated many world famous athletes in a variety of different sports including football, baseball, etc. Golf is no different. Many golfers of Golf Clubs San Diego in CA with their origin being San Diego are famous all over the world today.
Billy Casper is one of them. He is an American professional golfer who was one of the most fecund tournament winners in the PGA tour from the mid 1950s to the mid 1970s. Casper caddied during his youth at San Diego Private Golf Courses to earn money for golf. He was the first San Diegan to win three majors. He began playing golf at a very small age of 5 years. Billy because of his diet which included meat of hippopotamus, buffalo, elk and bear was given a nick name – Buffalo bill. His career achievements include making more than 20 holes-in-one and two of them were on a champion’s tour. He also authors a book named- The Big Three and Me. Casper began the Billy Casper youth foundation in 1992. His victories include-51 PGA tour victories, 9 Champions Tour victories,12 international victories and many more........
